About the Cards
Card Specifications are just like a credit card.
The size is 85,7mm x 53,9mm (3,375inch x 2,125inch or 3 3/8inch x 2 1/8inch).
The thickness is 30mil or 760micron or 0.76mm.
Our cards are the same as used by several of the large thermal printer manufacturers
as a result the design of our cards is optimized for thermal transfer printing applications.
Including the traditional white plastic card we also print on a wide range of coloured plastic cards for use
with our monochrome ink ribbons. Our cards are all top quality PVC plastic.
We believe our cards are the best available because:
- Our white card are a true white not tinted pink to create an artificial brightness which taints images
- Our coloured and metallic cards use a coloured core so they are the same colour all the way through and don't have a white edge to them.
Not all colours available immediately but we will ensure that your order is processed in the very quickest possible time. For information click on Contact.

About the Print
Printing can be done on either one side or both sides of the card.
Firstly
in a monochome print of either black, gold or silver or a combination of these colours.
A protective overlay can be added to the process which greatly increases the life of the print.
Secondly in full colour that comes standard with the protective overlay.
Our print process is thermal.
Glossary of Terms
Hi-co magnetic stripe
Hi-co is short for high coercitivity; high coercitivity magnetic stripes are harder to erase, and are therefore appropriate for cards that are frequently used or need to have a long life. They are typically black in colour. They are more expensive than lo-co cards. They require an encoder that is capable of encoding
hi-co cards, either a hi-co only encoder or a switchable encoder.
Lo-co magnetic stripe
Lo-co is short for low coercitivity; low coercitivity magnetic stripes are easier to erase, and are therefore appropriate for cards that are not used that frequently or have a short life. They are typically brown in colour. They are cheaper than hi-co cards. They require an encoder that is capable of encoding lo-co cards, either a lo-co only encoder or a switchable encoder. |
